Warning: SPOILERS for The Flash season 4, episode 11

Female speedster Jesse Quick could be returning to The Flash in season 4. The daughter of Harrison Wells from Earth-2 hasn’t been seen this season since episode 3, “Luck Be a Lady,” after choosing to go back home and protect her own universe. In her last appearance on the show, Wally visited Earth-2 after receiving a break-up cube from Jesse, and the two ultimately decided to part ways.

However, that wasn’t the last time we heard of Jesse. As recently as this past week, Harrison Wells has been said to be visiting his daughter on Earth-2. While Jesse did kick her father off the crime-fighting team they created at S.T.A.R. Labs due to him being too demanding, thus freeing him up to return to Earth-1 to help our heroes, there’s clearly no bad blood between them, leaving room for Jesse to make a comeback.

And it seems Jesse will be returning to the series very soon. On her Instagram, The Flash star Candice Patton recently posted a story featuring Violett Beane (Jesse Quick) and Beane’s dog Kora hanging out at a cafe. While the shot doesn’t actually take place on set, it does confirm that Beane is indeed back in Vancouver, where The Flash is likely filming episode 18. Beane has spent the last six months off and on in Atlanta recurring on FOX’s The Resident, so it’s a welcome sight to have her back.

While Wally has since gone on a journey to find himself, taking him away from Team Flash, there are still plenty of reasons Jesse could reappear on the show. For one, her father, Harrison Wells, is still on Earth-1, and Jesse could simply be coming to visit him and get caught up in drama. On the other hand, Jesse is also one of only a handful of known speedsters, so it’s more likely her reappearance will have something to do with Barry exiting the Speed Force and the bus of metas he accidentally created in the season 4 premiere.

It’s been rumored since late last year that episode 15, airing in March and titled “Enter Flashtime,” will be a speedster-centric episode reuniting Barry Allen with Earth-3’s Jay Garrick, Earth-2’s Jesse Quick and Wally West and kicking off a new story arc. There are also rumors that this episode could be when Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) ends up moving to Legends of Tomorrow.

Yet the most important note about this episode may be that the director is none other than Everwood’s Gregory Smith, who previously helmed last season’s “Into The Speed Force,” which now feels like a prequel for what’s to come. Whether Jesse returns for a little while in episode 15 or 18, this season sounds like it will end with some major developments for The Flash.
